My husband loves that he has a wife that cooks just about every night a nice home cooked meal. Nothing is better after being out of town all week, than to come home to a delicious home cooked meal. So, I thought I would share with you one of my husbands’ favorite meals.
Pasta Gravy (sauce)
Italian Shredded cheese mix
Salt and Pepper
Fill large pot with water and bring to a boil
Add a bit of salt and the pasta. Do not cook pasta completely, cook just enough that the pasta is pliable. You don’t want your pasta to get soggy and mushy in the oven. Strain and set aside.
In a large skillet, over medium high heat add the ground beef and brown.
Place cooked ground beef in strainer over a plate covered with paper towel to drain excess grease.
In the same, unwashed skillet, over medium high heat add your onions. Allow them to cook for a moment and add the garlic. Pepper to taste and add the ground beef to the onions and garlic.
Once all of those flavors have had a chance to blend together nicely, add the gravy (sauce).
When those flavors have mingled for awhile, it is time to assemble to lasagna.
In a large lasagna pan, put some of the gravy/sauce mixture. Put a layer of lasagna pasta, add a layer of gravy/sauce, a little bit of both sets of cheeses, and top that with ricotta. Repeat that process until it reaches your desired thickness. Top with a ton of cheese, then cover with aluminum foil and you are ready to put that in a 350* oven for 45 minutes to an hour or until the pasta is finished cooking and the cheese is all nice and melted.
At this point it is time to enjoy all of your hard work. Typically I serve this with garlic bread, and a little salad.
