Hi! My name is Alishia and I am a KraftaholicMommy!
Over the last little while, I have been trying new things. I thought it would be fun to share with you some of those things and tell you what I think about them. If you have tried any of these, please let me know in the comments, I would love to know your opinion.
The first thing, one night this past week, my husband, son, and I had to make an unexpected trip a couple hours away from home. On the way back home, we stopped at a convenient store to pick up a couple of drinks and some snacks for the little one. I saw a drink that caught my eye. Pure Leaf Ginger and Apple Green Tea. For only two dollars, I happily picked it up. Ginger has a lot of health benefits, or so I have read. I won’t dive into that because I am not a medical professional and I do not want to give any advice that could be wrong.
What I do love is the drink itself. I love that it is a glass bottle. I love coming up with fun ways to recycle or repurpose glass bottles. The flavor is really good. The ginger isn’t too strong and the apple flavor is sweet. I love that this drink has ingredients I can pronounce. Haha. Something that I have to be aware of is artificial sweeteners. My little one is allergic to artificial sweeteners. This drink doesn’t have that. I love that!!
The next thing I am excited to review with you is yarn related. Bernat Blanket Stripes! I was in JoAnn’s one day and much to my delight, I came across this beautiful thick yarn! I have worked with Bernat Brights Blanket yarns and I loved it! I knew I would love working with this yarn as well. I was only concerned with the color changes, I am usually pretty picky about how those colors change throughout the rolls. With this particular color scheme, I’m kind of living for it. I’m not a fan of how the colors are put together, if I have to rip out a row that includes a color change, it can be a bit of a nightmare to pull out the stitches that are the color transition. I had one that literally came apart completely. I had to break out the scissors and join the yarn together again. Now this incident only happened once and I do not hold it completely against Bernat. I understand that with yarns that transition in color or have new yarn attached to the skein or roll, you will have issues from time to time. To have a roll or skein of yarn that is completely issue free would cost an arm and leg. I am okay with a few knots here and there, or the occasional need to rejoin the yarn.
One of the things that I love about these stripes rolls, the center pull has been amazing! I love that I am not needing to create my own center pull rolls. That saves me time, which means I have more time to crochet. Thank you Bernat for doing that!!!!
I also love that the colors are not all so similar in the roll that you barely tell there has been a color change. I love that this roll in particular I am working with has a couple of grays, beautiful vanilla, and a gorgeous teal. I love that the rolls are not all uniform in the transition in colors as well. This means that I can make the same pattern over and over and no two blankets or projects will be the exact same. This allows for feeling that each person to receive my blanket will have a completely special blanket to them, no one else in the world will have a blanket just like them.
The last thing I would like to review today, my favorite stamping ink. I have shared projects and I know you have noticed that I have transitioned from Stampin’ Up Inks to My Favorite Things. Now, I have been asked about this and I haven’t really divulged why that is, until now. I love Stampin’ Up, I do, however, things have certainly changed. I noticed that with Stampin’ Up inks, I could only really use Stampin’ Up Stamps with them. With My Favorite Things Premium Dye Ink, I can use different stamps with no issues. I love my StaZOn Jet black ink, but I hate that sometimes it would come off as almost a dark gray color. With My Favorite Things Hybrink Ink- Extreme Black, I never have that problem. The color is right in your face and I love it! I also love the price point. $5.99 for some high quality ink pads, in some of the prettiest colors, I can back that up 100%. I tried other brands of inks, but never found anything that I particularly loved until My Favorite Things! Thank you My Favorite Things for making a quality product that I love!!!
Thank you so very much for stopping by today, it truly means so much to me to have your support. I hope you enjoyed today’s post. If you did, feel free to give this a like, comment, and share so others can join the fun as well. Thank you so much!!! Until next time,
