Baby Gift of The Crochet Variety

Hi! My name is Alishia and I am a KraftaholicMommy!

As I mentioned last week with my Congratulations Birdie card, a neighbor is having a sweet bundle of joy! This makes me so excited to crochet!

I am still working on one more gift for this sweet woman and her wonderful baby boy. However, I thought I would share with you what I have done so far.

As you know, I have made the card. I really love that card! I also decided to make him a sweet little diaper cover. Now, I did not make up the pattern on this. I got the pattern from a book that my husband randomly threw in the buggy one day while we were in Walmart. “Hats and Diaper Covers, Book Two,” is the name of the book and it is written by, Leisure Arts.

Now, if you look in the book, you will see that neither my diaper cover, nor my little beanie matches any of the pattern pictures to the tee. That would be because, I chose to keep with a simple beanie, in black. Yes, I said it, you see it, I made this beanie in straight Caron Simply Soft BLACK yarn…have I mentioned that I really love babies!! I would love to have a house full of little tiny bundles of joy. I know I can’t and that is a blog for another day. So, I try to make as much as I can, as fast as I can for the lovely women getting ready for their little tiny angels of love.

For the diaper cover, I went with Caron Simply Soft, Taupe and the border, I worked in Black as well. I wanted the beanie and the diaper cover to at least match enough that both could be worn together.

I chose to make a diaper cover because I think they are handy. If you are at the house and it has already been a day with your other munchkins and you just need something to cover the diaper while family comes to visit, this is a fantastic little piece to have. I also love how adorable babies are in crocheted items.

I decided to go with darker colors, for obvious reasons. Babies make messes and with darker colors, it hides those stains a bit better than if I would have used white.

I am also currently working on one other gift for the sweet baby, but I have not finished it yet. When I do, I will be happily sharing it with you soon!

Thank you so much for stopping by today, it truly means so much. I hope you enjoyed today’s post. If you did, feel free to give this a like, comment, and share so others can join the fun as well. Until next time,

Thank you!

God Bless!

Happy Krafting!
