Hi! My name is Alishia and I am a KraftaholicMommy!
I wanted today’s post to be a little different. I have been really wanting to say something to all of you, who have been visiting the site everyday and liking all of the posts.
From the bottom of my heart, I want to thank you all so much for supporting the site and really just being yourselves. It is truly amazing that we now have fifty followers. That may not seem like a lot to some, but to me, after working for over a year on this site, it truly means the world. I am incredibly blessed to have each and every one of you on this site!
So, moving on to the post for today. I have been thinking about what I wanted to post today and definitely the beginning of this post was at the top of my list. For the rest of the post, I wanted to answer some questions that I get asked often.
I was told by a couple of people that shouldn’t give credit to creators who inspired certain cards or other projects that I have posted about. I thought I would address this.
I know that once I change how a card or project is created, it makes a whole new project. I am giving credit to the creators because they inspired me. They also have far more content on their YouTube channels and websites than I do. I am hoping to show my gratitude to them, as well as show you some new people and new things. I would not have been able to create the things that I have created without inspiration and I wanted to share those sources of inspiration with you. I am so grateful that you love what I am doing, that I want to show you others that do what I do as well.
The other thing that I get asked about often is why do I use more than one company for crafting. Like, why when I make a card do I use My Favorite Things and Stampin’ Up?
This is because I love far more than just one company. Stampin’ Up offers a lot of stamps, that are really cute! My Favorite Things has truly become one of my absolute favorite places for paper crafting supplies. Their prices are better and their products have really made me happy. They are only about an hour away from where I live and their boutique is absolutely amazing!! I love that they are American based and that they have stamp and die cut sets that are for charity. A company that gives back is one that I am definitely happy to support!
When it comes to yarn, I tend to go with companies that offer the kind of yarn that I need for my hands. I have really sensitive hands and eczema, so having softer yarn that is easy to work with is a huge factor in my decision to purchase. Bernat Blanket yarn, Mandala, Sweet Rolls, and Caron Simply Soft are just a few brands that offer yarn that works for me and allows me to continue doing what I love.
For all other crafting supplies, I am merely interested in what works best. Photo transfer projects, I have tried other photo transfer solutions, but Mod Podge has been the best that I have used.
One question that I was recently asked, will I make slime for the site?
Umm, I am not sure. My beautiful niece, LeeAnna of LeeAnna’s World on YouTube, is doing a phenomenal job with that. Possibly a collab is in our future, I don’t know.
Why do I us a lot of Retired Stampin’ Up Products?
Because, it isn’t necessarily about the stamps that I use. I want to show you that you can use any stamp you want to create the card. I just want to inspire you to create cards!
Do you think that you will create a YouTube Channel?
I am currently thinking very seriously about that. If I do go with creating a YouTube Channel, I will still post all of the measurements on here, I will also link all of that in my video. I will also still post all of my other content on here as well.
Why do you have Christian Sunday?
I wanted to take a day each week to devote my attention on this site to God. I know that not everyone on here believes in God, so I have it on a set day to make sure that they know exactly when I will post my Christian based posts. The last thing I want to do is offend anyone, at the same token, I want to share my thoughts on being a Christian.
That’s all the questions I have for you all today. Perhaps once a month, I will jump on Instagram at instagram.com/alishia_blount and on Facebook at facebook.com/kraftaholicmommy and ask for your questions so I can do more of these posts if y’all would like.
I hope you enjoyed today’s post. If you did, feel free to give this a like, comment, and share. I would greatly appreciate it! Until next time,
