Broccoli Recipe Time!

Hi! My name is Alishia and I am a KraftaholicMommy!

Today, I wanted to share a recipe that my munchkin loves. He absolutely loves broccoli, if he could have that with every meal, he would. I got tired of cooking it only two ways and both of those ways was merely with salt and pepper for seasoning. Being the kind of person that loves to cook, I wanted t add a little something extra. So, I started adding things in and testing other things. Finally, I found a broccoli recipe that we all could enjoy.

Just a little reminder, I am a home cook. Unless I am cooking from a recipe, I don’t measure anything. I go by smell, sight, and taste.

Broccoli Florets (save your other broccoli pieces for stocks)

Cayenne Pepper

Let’s begin

Fill a large pot with water and bring that water to a boil.

Once it reaches a boil, add your broccoli and a small pinch of salt.

Boil for about 5-8 minutes. Then drain.

In a large skillet, over medium heat, melt your butter.

Add your shallots, garlic, cayenne, and a pinch of pepper. Cook those ingredients for about a minute.

Toss in the broccoli and cook until the broccoli is as tender as you prefer.

The best part…ENJOY!!!

Like I said, my little man absolutely loves this recipe and I enjoy making it for him. When I do this recipe, I buy my broccoli stem and all. Once I cut off all of my florets, I chop the stem into smaller, yet large chunks and put them in a freezer bag. I freeze them until I need a Vegetable stock. Having vegetable scraps is a great way to make your own vegetable stock that tastes better than store bought and you are able to choose the ingredients. I do this especially when I am cooking for my dad, he does not do salt of any kind. I always make sure that I cook with absolutely no salt if he is eating my food. When I am able to cook with salt, I make sure to use Sea Salt. Not only does it taste better, it is better for you than iodized salt.

I hope you enjoyed today’s post! If you did, feel free to give this a like, comment, and share so others can enjoy this as well. I greatly appreciate when you do! Until next time,

Thank You!

God Bless!

Happy Krafting!!
