Hi! My name is Alishia and I am a KraftaholicMommy!
All I can think about today is how many awesome projects I have coming up for you all to see. I have been enjoying the couple of days before the storm. It was so nice to have the sunshine, it always reinvigorates me. The beautiful part of everything is this card that I am going to share with you today.
This card is one of those cards I made, for anyone that may need it. My husband and several friends tend to come to me from time to time for cards and I like to be prepared. I also try to have samples on hand that I can show people, that way they are able to choose a card style they want.
I wanted to have some appreciation cards on hand. So, let’s get into the description.
Base Hot Pink measuring 4 1/4 inches by 11 inches scored at 5 1/2 inches
Black piece on the center front measures 4 1/4 inches by 2 3/4 inches
White piece measuring 4 inches by 2 1/2 inches
Inside the card:
Black measuring 5 1/4 inches by 4 inches
White measuring 5 inches by 3 3/4 inches
Thank you sentiments from JoAnn’s
Retired Stampin’ Up Set: Rose in Winter
Stampin’ Up Melon Mambo
StaZ On Jet Black
Two pieces of scrap black paper
One piece of scrap white paper
Layered label die cut (this cuts out a nice ring, I used the ring)
Acrylic Stamp mount
Pink and White Butcher’s Twine
I started with one of the water color flower stamps and my white piece measuring, 4 inches by 2 1/2 inches. I used my Stampin’ Up Melon Mambo. I also stamped my white piece measuring, 5 inches by 3 3/4 inches. I used the same big water colored flower. I stamped in the upper left corner and the bottom right corner.
At this point, I ran my label die cut through my Sizzix BigKick. I took the ring that it forms and began a fun little front piece. Using my permanent tape runner to layer my white piece (4 inches by 2 1/2 inches) onto my black piece (4 1/4 inches by 2 3/4 inches). I then put a little permanent tape runner on the front bottom portion of my label ring. I slid that piece onto my newly layered pieces like a ring and pressed the layer on to my ring. I put a little bit of tape runner and put it on on the back of the ring that was on top of my layer, and pressed that to the white layer. This step keeps the ring secure and it helps to keep the little bow I tied in the loop where I wanted it. I tied the bow around the upper part of the ring before I put permanent tape runner over the entire piece. I made sure to run quite a bit of tape on the portion that had the ring attached. By doing this, I am again trying to ensure that the ring is securely attached and I am not having to worry about it coming loose and crooked.
At this point, I went ahead and worked on the inside of the card. I used my permanent tape runner and adhered my white piece (5 inches by 3 3/4 inches) to my black piece (5 1/4 inches by 4 inches). I then centered my new piece on the inside of my card.
It was then time to work on my dainty label pieces. I punched a label out of my scrap piece of black paper and cut that label in half. I took my big water color flower and used my Stampin’ Up Melon Mambo ink and stamped it a couple of times on my piece of scrap white paper. It was at this point that I stamped my sentiment to that same piece using StaZ On Jet Black ink. I used the same dainty label punch for the sentiment piece as my black piece that I cut in half. I then took one half and adhered that to the top of my white sentiment piece. Then, I took the other half and adhered that to the bottom of that same piece. I wanted a pretty black border to my sentiment piece. Using dimensionals, I adhered my sentiment label piece to the upper right side of my focal image.
This card was certainly fun to make and I loved how it turned out. There are so many amazing ways you can turn this card into something that will amaze you as well. This brings me to something that I would definitely love to address.
I use a lot of retired products, that or I only mention where I bought the stamp. I do that for a reason. It isn’t because I don’t want you to make the card. I do! I would also love to see the cards you make. I do this in hopes that you will use whatever images you like. Make it yours. Enjoy making the card and be proud of what you accomplish.
I truly hope you have enjoyed today’s post. If you did, feel free to give this a like, comment, or share, I would greatly appreciate it. Also, feel free to share this website with your friends so they can join the fun as well. Until next time,
Thank you and God Bless!
