More Paper and Ink Love!!

Hi! My name is Alishia and I am a KraftaholicMommy!

Today, I was running a few errands when I was inspired for making some invitations for a family member. The sunrise this morning was absolutely beautiful. I loved the pinks in the sky and blue that started shining. I swear Sunrise is one of my favorite times of day.

I started this project off with a sheet of vanilla card stock, measuring 8.5”X5.5”. I took my Melon Mambo ink from Stampin’ Up and a stamp from a retired Stampin’ Up set and created my own designer paper. I took the leaf like stem stamp and randomly stamped all over the card stock. I then, scored my paper at 4.25” on the 8.5” side of the paper. I folded my card stock over, forming my card base. I went with a vanilla card stock because I wanted my Melon Mambo ink to really pop. I felt that using my brilliant white, would take away from my stamping.

I took a piece of hot pink card stock measuring, 4”X5.25” and placed it in the center of the card base front. This provided a nice separation from the image piece. I thought using hot pink would help brighten and match my Melon Mambo ink.

From there, I took a piece of vanilla card stock measuring 3.75”X5” and stamped the leaf like stamp twice. I liked the depth that making two passes gave the overall look of the card. This not only are the sentiment pop, but it also gave a bit of a vintage look to the stamping.

Inside the card, I stamped a basic invitation stamp. This just gives a definitive place for my family member to fill out the birthday party information. This is for her daughter and while her daughter is a girly girl, she is also very simplistic in her taste. She isn’t really a flashy, showy kind fo girl. I wanted to have that come across and hopefully give her something that she will enjoy giving to her friends. I think I nailed that.

I really loved making these invitations. I love the colors. I also made a set using Bermuda Bay Stampin’ Up ink and a pretty blue color of card stock accent. This just gives her options. I only made the two invitations so she can pick which one she likes. I have a couple of other designs in mind if these are to her liking. I will be making those as well and discussing those invitations in another post.

I also made these cards to open on the landscape side. I thought it would give more room inside the card for the invitation stamp. It also gives the sentiment piece a little bit more room for focus as well.

I love paper crafting. There is something ever so satisfying about stamping this beautiful images and watching these cards come together. I really love using Stampin’ Up ink and stamps. There is something so heartfelt about making cards for others. I am really excited to get started working on the birthday cards for the upcoming birthdays. There will definitely be a lot more paper posts coming your way. So, keep them eyes peeled for that.

Thank you so much for stopping by today, I hope you enjoyed today’s post! If you did, feel free to give this a like, comment, or share. I would greatly appreciate it. Until next time,

Thank you and God Bless!

Happy Krafting!
