Wreath Revisited

Hi! My name is Alishia and I am a KraftaholicMommy!

Sunday was a beautiful day! Even when it started raining. I can appreciate a wonderful rain storm. Spending time in church and with family is always amazing. I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend.

I know Monday’s are not everyone’s favorite, it is mine. I love that it starts a new week to create and have crafting sessions uninterrupted. Now, over the weekend as I promised, I looked at that wreath that caused my heart some pain.

I went to Michaels and took them up on their flower sale. Once I left, I was ready and excited to add some additional accents to this wreath. I chose those beautiful blue flowers to go with the beautiful flower on the cross.

The first issue I had to fix was the cross. It began to sag as you can see in the picture from the previous post on this. I added another hook to be able to secure this heavier cross. In the previous wreaths, the cross I used was much lighter and did not require added stability. I was able to also figure out an easier way to hook my cross to my wreath with the gardening wire. This was awesome to be able to add this cross. I absolutely love it. the interesting thing about this cross is, that I found it at Family Dollar in their Easter section. So, thanks Family Dollar!

Once I was able to fix the first issue, working on the next was a breeze. I pulled the flowers off of their stems and added them to the wreath. I used gardening wire to fasten the blue flowers to the burlap. I used hot glue to add the baby breathe. When I added them, the wreath, to me, was finally complete! I could not be happier with the turnout.

Like I talked about in the previous post on this wreath, there is no shame in saying that a project you thought was done is still a work in progress. I know that it can be very upsetting to put something together and feel that it is lacking. However, to get upset and do nothing about it is far sadder. It can be very difficult to see past the disappointment. Which was the issue that I ran into. I will humbly admit that I nearly put this bad boy on the wall right next to my bed and have it right in my face from the second I woke up, and when I went to bed at night. I had a bit of an idea and before I knew it, my mouth was flapping and my sisters were there helping me.

My family and I had dinner at my sister’s house and they are amazing ladies. While we were just sitting around talking, I grabbed my phone and showed them the picture of the wreath. We started talking about options. From there, the rest is on display. It helps to share what you have so far to get inspiration and ideas from others. I love that I have my sisters for that. I also love that I have that in other places as well.

It is truly a blessing to have people I can look to for that inspiration. What do you do when that blessing is not there?

Try taking a moment and just look at pictures of what you are trying to accomplish. If it is making a wreath, google that. Take a moment and step away, go to your happy place and refresh. There are so many different things you can do to help yourself get back at it and make that craft just the way you want it. I know that things may not always turn out fantastic the first time you do them, but if they did, would you genuinely appreciate crafting? I know I wouldn’t! I like learning from the mistakes. I find that working with the mistakes can sometimes lead to some pretty cool things.

What do you do when your crafts don’t turn out exactly how you want them to? Leave a comment and let me know, I truly would love to read about it. Also, why don’t we take a moment and try to encourage each other today. It doesn’t have to be in the comments of this post, it can be on one of your Facebook groups or in person with someone you know is having a hard time with a craft. One of the things I love about the crafting world is how amazingly supportive crafters can be. Let’s spread that to others in our lives today.

Thank you so much for stopping by today, I truly appreciate it. I hope you enjoyed today’s post. If you did, feel free to give this a like or just drop a comment below. Also, feel free to browse my other posts, I post everyday. Feel free to share this site with your friends and family so they can join the fun as well. Until next time,

Thank you and God Bless!

Happy Krafting!
