Hi! My name is Alishia and I am a KraftaholicMommy!

What inspires your crafting? For me, it is just about everything. I have so many sources of inspiration for my crocheting, paper crafting, and crafting in general. I would love to share with you some of my points of inspiration.

With crochet, I get inspired by several kinds of things. First, the Facebook page Crochet it Like This is very inspiring. The projects that people are working on or have completed inspires me to try new patterns and try new things in my crocheting life. I also draw inspiration from the world around me. I see all of beautiful blues, oranges, and pinks in the sky at sunset and I am inspired by it. When I am looking for new patterns, I love YouTube. I love watching videos by people like Chandi at Expression Fibre Arts and Mikey at the Crochet Crowd. Seeing the beautiful things they make inspires me to try them.

I love getting inspiration for my paper crafting from people like Brandy Cox of Brandy’s Cards, Angie Juda of Chic’N Scratch, and Connie Stewart of Simply Simple Stamping. Seeing the cards that these wonderful ladies make is inspiring. I draw my ideas for my cards from them. I also draw inspiration from the people that I am making the cards for. If I know their favorite color or animal, I try to incorporate that in the card.

With my photo transfers, I was inspired to start, by watching Kayli Butler of HeyKayli. She had done the photo transfer in a video and I was hooked. The wood that I use is also inspiring. My husband can make some of the cutest pallet wall pieces that I have ever seen! He is such an inspiration to me, how he can turn old scrap wood into something new and beautiful. I also love coming up with new projects with photo transfer so we can work together. I love it!

With all of my other crafts, I get inspired by stores and just the world around me. I like looking at pictures of home decor and try to replicate what I see or I make something entirely different based on a few aspects of what I see. I enjoy seeing what others are doing and how they are doing it. I find that if I am always looking for new ideas the inspiration trickle turns into a huge waterfall.

I also draw inspiration from church. When I am around my church family, I am inspired by all of the love that they have for one another. I am inspired by their dedication and loyalty. I am inspired by their happiness in the Lord. I know that not everyone who visits this site are Christians, but I am sure you can understand how I can draw inspiration from these amazing people I am blessed with.

I live life looking up. I don’t let a rough patch or bad situation bring the pessimism out in me. I look at things that are ugly or old and I see how they could be shined up and brought up to something beautiful. I try to live my entire life that way. If you live your life allowing yourself to be beat down by all of the negative, how are you ever going to appreciate or experience at all, the positive?

Working on crafts especially challenging ones, inspire me. They motivate me to work harder, to be better. The hardest crafts I have worked on are my favorites. I have also learned that if I am not being challenged enough, I tend to get bored and wind up stopping my work. Seeing as how I am not a fan of that, I try to find new ways to keep doing what I love.

I find that as long as I am in my happy place (my crafting area) I am a happy camper. I love finding positive things in life and allowing them to inspire me. My son loves a family on YouTube, called the EhBee Family. I find that I am very inspired by the sweet mother on that channel. She goes by MamaBee and she goes above and beyond in spreading love and kindness throughout the world. I love that about this family. So, on days when my munchkin and I are the only two home, we put on the EhBee family and craft the day away. Allowing my munchkin to learn about things that are inspiring and how going for your dreams is a good thing, is not only being taught by me, but being reinforced by a sweet family as well.

I can never get enough of crafting and I certainly can never get enough of being inspired. The world around you is beautiful. Look at the sky and witness that beautiful blue. Look at the ocean and see how those waves crash into the beach or rocks. There is always something beautiful around you, all you have to do is look.

I hope you enjoyed today’s post. If you did, feel free to like or comment down below. If you would like, feel free to share this site with others, I am always happy to make new friends. Until next time,

Thank you and God Bless!

Happy Krafting!
